U Drive

Here are some stuff from my U drive at school. Most of this work is from Web Authoring and Graphic Design class that I threw together. A lot of this is half-assed to get credit, and some of this I worked pretty diligently on. The Web Authoring websites had the dumbest requirements, so please excuse how cheesy the websites are. Oh yeah, some of these have animated effects on them, but these are just screenshots.
And I don't take credit for some of the resources I've used. For example, the Trojan logos aren't mine, all of the pictures (except the one of me and the ones I've created on Photoshop) aren't mine, etc. etc.

Shirt I designed over the weekend for the play. I would say it took me about 3 hours to research the plays (they're performing two different plays), think of a cohesive idea, and compose the design. I think it'd look best on a dark grey shirt. I'll post pictures of the final product--hopefully it turns out right.

I was voted Most Artistic in our senior class. Coo'.
Also, I made this cool sketch in class and I like where I'm going with it... Yeh.

Hello, 2010.

Concept:
With my art, I want people to envision a story, to see my art and be intrigued to what's going on in the emotionally-charged illustrations.

Subject:
Mainly consist of illustrations and portraits.

Art Elements:
Primary focus: color and shape.

Design Principles:
I will try to add value to my work by portraying specific design principles in each artwork. Again, I will try.

Influences:
Grant Wood - His landscapes and the depth of the pieces. It takes your eyes beyond what's in the center of the page.

Francisco Goya - Themes in the Black Painting series. The painting of Saturn Devouring His Son makes me want to read more into the story. The Great He-Goat is also intriguing. I want people to want to know more about my paintings past the technical aspects of them.

Gustav Klimt: Textures and colors. The textures and colors that surround the main subjects attract me more than the main subjects themselves. The evident brushstrokes and various patterns make his art his own.
Materials:
Watercolor paint, colored pencils, pen.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mk, I got the last two pieces done. I found the quick sketch of Summer that I did. It doesn't look anything like her but her hair. I inked it and used Prismacolor colored pencils. The one with the black chick is done, too. I'm doing some touch-ups though. I hate this one.

Why yes, that's where I make love.
Why yes, that's the shadow of my head. Why yes, I took this on the crappy ole camera on my laptop. Why yes, the cat is neon orange... damn.

1st Semester Works

Half of my senior year is about to come to a close, ya'll. The goal for AP Studio is to have 12 breadth pieces done by this coming Wednesday. I think I'm going to use a couple of these for my concentration since my concentration deals with the intimate relationship with people and their personal environments, which is perfect for me. One, I'm still painting portraits of people which I'm most comfortable with, and two, I'm satisfying Sweeney by incorporating landscapes and perspectives and all that art crap.
As our midterm grade, we're critiquing each others' works on the last day before break. Here's what I got so far. Names are not official:
1. Merritt Portrait
2. Swine
3. Sad Onion
4. Girl by Pond
5. Truth
6. Concept Art - 3 characters
7. Fishing
8. Carrot Lady
9. Friendship
10. Ugly-ass shit. AKA weekend piece
* 11. Grant Wood
* 12. Summer's Wake
* = denotes work in progress
I think I'll make it.
P.S. Hayyy Park Hill South folks! Happy creepin'. Hahahahaha. Stay classy, PHS, stay classy.
