So, Madelyn and I started a photography business, aptly named "Peter & Madelyn Photography". You have no idea how long we contemplated on what we should call it.
Anyway, here's a little update and a link to our Facebook page:

Senior Pictures

Maddie took the last three pictures and I edited all of them. And yeah, my eyes are open...

Commentary

My concentration took forever to refine. I went from a drawing portfolio to changing it to 2D last minute, from an illustration concentration to stress, blah blah blah. Anyway, here is my commentary.

Briefly define the nature of your concentration project:

As the years go on, the amount of stress I feel has been increasing insurmountably. The only thing on my mind is how many more things I have to get done, when that deadline is, or how many hours of sleep I'll get, if any... So I find it fitting that my concentration is on the detection of stress through the exploration of watercolor effects. The raw textures and the expressive qualities that are capable in watercolors make it an ideal medium to portray stress.

Briefly describe the development of your concentration project and the sources of your ideas. You may refer to specific slides as examples:

The white hair, pronounced veins, wrinkles, and bloody nose represent stress. I used alcohol droppings and salt in the hair to imitate chaos (1,9). The cracks in the rocks and the variety of textures represent the turmoil going on in their minds (2). I overloaded with water and let dry to create harsher textures in the cheeks and blood. The bright colors complement the harsh textures (3). I used salt to create noise and blew the water in the background to portray the sporadic nature of stress. I also attribute stress with crying (4,5,9,10,12). The most gruesome piece is probably my self-portrait. The accumulation of stress in the four years I've been in high school is displayed rather morbidly. The red eyes show the stress I cause on my eyes from studying all night (5). This is an imitation of the tension in veins. I took a graphite pencil and dragged the watercolors to create the “veins” (10). The swine flu epidemic created paranoia in the United States' society. I was affected by swine flu during summer vacation and was bedridden for weeks. The pale colors portray death (8). I used less water to show dryness in the atmosphere. The texture of the paper helps in creating this in the background, hair, and lips. The figure seems depleted of emotion from the draining stress but it's apparent that she isn't relaxed (6).

"Brian" Progress

Might as well put this up here. These pictures were taken on my phone and I painted this one hours before I had to send it off for the art festival. Wish I could have done more to it, especially the shirt and the pants but... yeah.Wet paint haha.
Can you see the Red Bull? Yeah, there were more out of the picture.
First wash: done. Btw, meet my electric piano.
Worth framing? Nah. Makes it look better, though haha.
Le muse.
